The middle number between two.numbers is the average. Add the numbers and divide by 2.
The midpoint uses the average of the x's and the average of the y's. So
x coordinate: - 3 + 2 2 = - 1 2
y coordinate: 5 + ( - 1 ) 2 = 4 2 = 2
The midpoint is ( - 1 2 , 2 )
