Average speed = Total Distance Total Time
Speed = 15 miles per hours (mph).Time taken = 12 min = 12 60 = 1 5 hour
So distance covered while going uphill = Speed × Time
= 15 × 1 5 = 3  miles
Distance covered = same as uphil
= 3 miles
speed = 30 mph
Time taken = Distance Speed = 3 30 = 1 10  hourSo total distance =3+3=6 miles
Total Time = 1 5 + 1 10 2 + 1 10 = 3 10  hour
So Avg. speed = 6 3 / 0 ! = 60 3 = 20  mph
