Multiply the terms two at a time:
(x-1)(x+4)
=(x-1)*x+(x-1)*4
=x2x+4x4
=x2+3x4
therefore
(x-1)(x+4)(x-3)
=(x2+3x4)(x3)
=(x2+3x4)x(x2+3x4)3
=(x3+3x24x)(3x2+9x12)
=x313x+12
