The Earth is 24,860 miles around in circumference. How many times would you need to go around the Earth to equal the distance to the Sun? You have all the information you need above. Explain your work (how you made your calculations) and answer below, don’t forget units. Above, you calculated the number of times you need to go around the Earth to equal the distance from the Earth to the Sun. It is a lot. If it were possible to take a Southwest Airlines flight to the Sun, who long would it take you to get there? It takes an airplane 42 hours to circle the Earth one time. Convert your answer into years. Explain your calculations and answer below

Well, the distance from Earth to the sun is nearly 93 Million miles , and the circumference of the earth = 24,860 miles
which is by going around the earth once , we cover a distance of roughly 24,860 miles
( Or circumference = distance covered by one complete revolution)
and in order to cover such a distance we need to go around the earth many a times which is :
number of times ( N ) = Distancesun-earth Circumference
= 93 × 10 6 24860
= 3740.95  times
or 3741 times around the earth.
Moreover, If it were possible to take a Southwest Airlines flight to the Sun, time would it take you to get there would be = ?
since , it takes 42 hours to circle the Earth once, so total number of hours the airplane would take to complete 3741 times revolution around the earth , which is also the distance between the sun and the earth.
therefore, time = Total revolutions required x time per revolution.
= 3741 × 42
= 157122 hours (answer)
o r , = 157122 ( 365 × 24 )
= 17.94 years (answer)
