y = x 5
5 = x y
this variation is of the form x y = c
x=5.y

here the variables are y and x and the constant is 5

understanding the variation through an example :

Assigning random values to y

y= 1 , x=5.1=5
y =2 , x=5.2=10
y = 3 , x=5.3=15

By observing an increase of one of the variables with respect to another we can come to a conclusion that the variation is direct .

As y increases so does x

Looking at a more practical example.
Distance= (Speed)x( Time )

Here as speed increases , the distance then coveblack would also increase , thus there is a direct variation.
