The first one is simple for solving for y and you get y=2+2/3x
Now that you have y, plug it into the second one to get
2x-3(2+2/3 x)=6 Now simplify
2x-6-2x=6 This doesn't work so try the substitution for x
2x=3y+6 Divide by 2
x=3/2y+3 Plug this in to the other one
-2/3(3/2y+3)+y=2
-y-2+y=2. This doesn't work either
Since these don't work, this problem has no solution. If you solvefor y or graph the equations, you will see that they both have the same slope so they are parallel lines meaning they will never cross and there is no solution.
