Slope of line joining ( x 1 , y 1 ) and ( x 2 , y 2 ) is given by:
Slope m = y 2 y 1 x 2 x 1
Given points on line: ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( 2 , 2 ) and ( x 2 , y 2 ) = ( 5 , 2 )
Slope m = y 2 y 1 x 2 x 1 = 2 ( 2 ) 5 ( 2 ) = 4 7 y = m x + c y = 4 7 x + c
Substituting point ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( 2 , 2 ) in the above equation, we get:
2 = 4 7 2 + c 2 = 8 7 + c c = 2 + 8 7 = 14 + 8 7 = 6 7 y = 4 7 x 6 7
