As z varies inversely with x and directly with y, we can say
z y x or z = k × y x , where k is a constant.
Now as z=5 when x=6 and y=2, we have
5 = k × 2 6 or k = 5 × 6 2 = 15 i.e. z = 15 × y x
Hence, when x=4 snd y=9
z = 15 × 9 4 = 135 4 = 33.25
