Let the speed of the airplane is x mph and the wind speed is y mph.
Then we have,
Speed of airplane with the wind = (x + y) mph
Speed of airplane against the wind = (x - y) mph
Now according to the given data, we have,
2 ( x + y ) = 360 x + y = 180
And,
3 ( x y ) = 360 x y = 120
Now gives,
2 x = 300 i . e . x = 150
So the speed of the airplane is 150 mph
The wind speed is 30 mph
