Average speed of the boat going upstream = 5 mph
Average speed of the boat going downstream = 10 mph
Sped of boat in still water = speed of boat in stream
= 5 + 10 2 = 15 2 = 7.5
10 mph = 7.5 mph + speed of the current
speed of the current = 10-7.5
speed of current = 2.5 mph
