The equation of a line in point-slope form is
a a y - y 1 = m ( x - x 1 ) a a ̲ ¯
where m represents the slope and ( x 1 , y 1 ) a point on the line
here m = - 3 4 and ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( - 8 , 2 )
substitute these values into the equation.
y - 2 = - 3 4 ( x + 8 ) equation in point-slope form
It is usual.however, to distribute and collect like terms.
y - 2 = - 3 4 x - 6
y = - 3 4 x - 4 in slope-intercept form
