Let x be the first number and yy be the second number.
The sum of three times a first number and twice a second number is 43
3x+2y=43(1)
The second number is subtracted from twice the first number, so the result is -4:
2xy=4(2)
y=2x+4(3)
3x+2(2x+4)=43
3x+4x+8=43
7x+8=43
7x=35
x=5
y=2(5)+4
y=14
So, the numbers are 5 and 14.
