ANOVA:
The term ANOVA stands for analysis of variance. It is used to test the relationship between a categorical and a numeric variable by testing the differences between two or more means.
Correlation:
The correlation is a statistical technique that is used for analyzing the behavior and association between two or more variates.
Regression:
Regression analysis is a set of statistical methods used to estimate relationships between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables. It attempts to determine the strength and character of the relationship between one dependent variable Y and a series of other variables known as the independent variables.
T-test:
A t-test is a type of inferential statistic used to determine if there is a significant difference between the means of two groups, which may be related in certain features.
Chi-square test:
A chi-square test for independence compares two variables in a contingency table to see if they are related or not.
In the given problem ethnicity is a categorical variable and the amount spent on food per week is a numerical variable, i.e., a quantitative variable.
Therefore, we may use Regression, ANOVA (Analysis of variance) or the chi-square test to perform the analysis for the given data.
In regression, the categorical variable must be coded into a dummy variable before doing the regression analysis.
The chi-square test for contingency table can be performed for the given data.
If the categorical variable is an independent variable and if there is a dependent numerical variable, it is possible to perform the ANOVA.
Answer is:
Regression
ANOVA
Chi-square
