Concurrent validity of a test refers to the correlation between a new test and an existing test to establish whether the results of the new test correlates well with the existing test. The resulting correlation is called the concurrent validity coefficient.
The pattern of results should show a strong positive relationship or a strong negative relationship between the results of the existing tests and that of the new test. The average percentage of scores should turn out to be same or very close.
If these patterns are established, concurrent validity is present.
