Pi ( π ) , the 16th letter of the Greek alphabet, represents the most popular mathematical constant in. The ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter is known as pi. Pi is defined as the product of the circumference and the diameter. ( π = c d ) . In contrast, the diameter times pi equals the circumference. ( c = π d ) . It doesn't matter how big or tiny a circle is, pi always equals the same number.
When starting off in math, students are introduced to pi as a value of 3.14 or 3.14159. Although pi is an irrational number, some people estimate it using rational expressions, like 22 7   of   333 106 . However, the precision of these rational expressions is limited to a few decimal places.
