The ratio of the input arm's to the output arm's distance from the fulcrum is known as the mechanical advantage. The output force to input force ratio and this ratio are the same.
The product of output force and the distance of the output arm from the fulcrum is equal to the product of input force and the distance of the input arm from the fulcrum, or stated another way, they are the same. This is a reference to several types of levers. Many times, in addition to the word fulcrum, phrases like effort and load are added in the description of such levers. In the mechanical advantage formula, load represents output force and effort represents input force.
