We have that where N= number of students
N[passedmath or chem]=N[passedmath]+N[passedchem]N[passedmath and chem]
By entering the specified values, we have
90=75+85N[passedmath and chem]
so N[passedmath and chem]=75+8590=70
Hence, the necessary probability is
P[passedmathpasseschem]
=N[passedmath and chem]N[passedmath and chem]
=7084
=1417
