A distribution is a binomial distribution when

1) All trials are identical and independent.

2) two outcomes for each trial: Success, failure

3) Number of trials is fixed.

Here all 6 machine are identical and indpendent. Each machine has two outcomes: defect, good. Here number of machine is fixed at 6. So this is a binomial distribution with n=6 and p=0.04

We know at least one and none are compliment event.

So P(at least 1 defect)= 1-P(no defect)

No defect means P(0 of 6)

For a binomial distribution with n independent trials with probability p, equation to find the probability of k success in n trials is

p(k of n)=n!k!*(n-k)!*pk*(1-p)n-k

Using this equation

p(0 of 6)=6!0!*(6-0)!*0.040*(1-0.04)6-0=0.7828

So

P(at least 1 defect)= 1-0.7828 = 0.2172

So answer is 0.2172
