a) Here f(x,y)=3xyx2+5y225 (1)
put x=-1, y=3 in (1), we get
f(1,3)=3(1)3(1)2+5(3)225
=-9-1+15-25
=-10+15-25
=-10-10
=-20
Hence f(-1,3)=-20
b) Now f(x,y)=3xyx2+5y225=0
3x2x2+5x225=0
7x2=25
x2=257
x=±257
x=±57
Hence x=57,57
