Let y1(x, t) = A1 cos(k1x − ω1t) and y2(x, t) = A2 cos(k2x − ω2t) be two solutions to the wave equation with the same wave speed v. Show that the superposed wave function y(x, t) = y1(x, t) + y2(x, t) is also a solution to the wave equation.
