The first member of the Balmer series of hydrogen atom has a wavelength of 6561 Å.
We have to find,
Wavelength of the second member of the Balmer series (in nm)
We know,
E = h c λ = E 0 [ 1 4 1 9 ]
So,
h c λ = E 0 [ 1 4 1 16 ] χ λ = 5 × 16 9 × 4 × 3 λ = 5 × 4 × 656.1 9 × 3 = 486   n m
