T = ( 2.9 × 10 3 ) λ m a x i m u m
where T is the temperature of the object, λ m a x i m u m is the wavelength of emitted radiation of maximum intensity.
Given
Wavelength of maximum intensity radiation of the red star is 700   n m = 700 × 10 9   m
Henceforth the temperature can be calculated as
T = ( 2.9 × 10 3 ) 700 × 10 9 T = ( 2.9 7 ) × 10 3 2 + 9 T = 4143   K
