S is the distance covered by any object moving with uniform acceleration.
We can also get it by using the following method:-
Given that
v=u+at
Or t=v-u/a
Distance travelled = (Average velocity) × (time)
S= (v+u)/2 × t =( (u+v)/2) . ((v-u)/a)
Or S = ( v 2 u 2 ) / 2 a
Or v 2 u 2 = 2as
Therefore, 3rd equation of motion: v 2 u 2 = 2as
V= final velocity
u = initial velocity
a = acceleration
S = Distance covered by object
