It is given that there are 100 rheumatoid arthritis patients participating in the study. It is required to conduct a well-designed controlled experiment to test the cause and effect relationship. The study design is given below.
Put 50 slips of paper marked as A, and 50 slips of paper marked as B in a bowl and then shuffle it. Now, each person participating in the study randomly draws out a slip of paper. If a person picks slip A, then subject will be included in the group which consumes fish atleast twice a week and if it is slip B, then the subject will be included in the group which does not consume fish.
Both the groups should be treated equally except the fact that one group consumes fish and other group does not. Now, observe the subjects for a time interval of 6 months. At the end of the 6th month, measure the disease activity among participants in both the groups.
