given

f (x) = - 3 x + 4

and

g (x) = x^{2}

Given solution:

g \circ f (x) = g (f (x)) = g (- 3 x + 4) = {(- 3 x + 4)}^{2}

x = - 2

we have

g \circ f (- 2) = {(- 2 \cdot - 3 + 4)}^{2} = 10^{2} = 100

As bonus

f \circ g (x) = f (g (x)) = f (x^{2}) = - 3 x^{2} + 4

And for

x = - 2

we have

f \circ g (- 2) = - 3 {(- 2)}^{2} + 4 = - 8

As a result, composed functions are not the same and conmutativity is absent.
