How can i change

1 - x^{2}

to a form where it is

(x^{2})

first then one. In the form

(x^{2} - a)

? Do i just mulitply by -1 and that switches the order of the

x^{2}

and 1 ?

Step 1
Let

f (x) = 1 - x^{2}

We want f(x) in form of

x^{2} - a

i.e.

x^{2}

first and then constant.
Step 2
So, for that if I multiply f(x) by -1, i get new function

g (x) = - 1 (f (x))

= - 1 (1 - x^{2})

= - 1 + x^{2}

g (x) = x^{2} - 1
