Grouping is a nice tool to use when learning how to factor
( a 5 + 2 a 5 b ) + ( 3 6 b )
factor one term
a 5 ( 1 + 2 b ) + ( 3 6 b )
now use the (1+2b) term as a factor for the other side basically, what times (1+2b) gives (-3-6b)
a 5 ( 1 + 2 b ) + ( 3 ) ( 1 + 2 b )
notice how two of the terms are the same since they are being multiplied you can factor them out which results in the following
( 1 + 2 b ) ( a 5 3 )
