Step 1
When dealing with square roots, you can always pull out a perfect square from under the radical. In the second part, where it says ( 2 18 ) , 9 × 2 = 18 , and nine is a perfect square, so you can so this:
2 18 = 2 9 × 2
From here, you can take the square root of 9, and move it to in front of the radical.
2 18 = 2 × 3 2 2 18 = 6 2
Now you are going to want to multiply the first part of the problem, with the new simplified second part.
( 5 2 ) ( 6 2 )
Since the two radicals are the same, you can multiply them, and they cancel out. You are left with what was underneath one of them.
2 × 2 = 2
Simplify that with the previous problem, like so.
5 × 6 × 2 = 60

Step 1
( 5 2 ) ( 2 18 ) ( 5 × 2 ) ( 2 × 18 ) ( 10 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 2 × 2 ) ( 10 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 2 ) ( 2 )
Note: 2 × 2 = 2 and 3 2 = 3
( 10 ) ( 2 ) ( 3 ) = 60
