The expressions are NOT equal when ω = 2 and L = 1 and C = 1:
ω C 1 ω L ω C 1 ω L + ω L 1 ω C = 2 1 1 2 1 2 1 1 2 1 + 2 1 1 2 1 = 3 2 4 1 = 1 2
and
1 3 [ ( ω r ω ) 2 + ( ω ω r ) 2 ] = 1 3 [ ( 1 2 ) 2 + ( 2 1 ) 2 ] = 1 3 1 4 4 = 1 5 4 = 4 5 ,
where I've used the fact that ω r = 1 L C = 1 1 1 = 1.
