Find the value of sin 24 x cos 18 x cos 6 x
Given tan x = 5 2, find the value of
sin 24 x cos 18 x cos 6 x .
Now I wrote numerator as sin ( 18 + 6 ) x and I used identity sin ( A + B ), after that I reduced problem to tan 18 x + tan 6 x
How do I proceed? Thanks

tan 2 x = 2 ( 5 2 ) 1 ( 5 2 ) 2 = 1 2 ,
which gives
sin 4 x = 1 1 + 1 4 = 4 5 .

We have
tan 2 x = 2 tan x 1 tan 2 x = 2 ( 5 2 ) 1 ( 5 2 ) 2 = 2 ( 5 2 ) 1 5 + 4 5 4 = 2 ( 5 2 ) 4 ( 5 2 ) = 1 2
Then use
tan 3 A = 3 tan A tan 3 A 1 3 tan 2 A
to deduce that
tan 6 x = 11 2
Use it once again to deduce that
tan 18 x = 1199 718
