We added the two amount of sugar:

23+114

Write the mixed fraction as an improper fraction:

=23+54

Rewrite each fraction using the LCD which is 12:

=2344+5433

=812+1512

Combine the numerators:

=8+1512

=2312

Write as a mixed fraction:

11112 cups of sugar are needed
