We have
tanx+cotx=sinxcosx+cosxsinx=sin2x+cos2xsinxcosx
=1sinxcosx
So you want to know how much is sinxcosx
Squaring the equality you know, we have:
(sinx+cosx)2=(3+12)2
sin2x+2sinxcosx+cos2x=4+234
1+2sinxcosx=1+32
2sinxcosx=32
sinxcosx=34
tanx+cotx=1sinxcosx=433

Another more general approach is to solve your equation for x. Since it is linear in sinx and cosx it can be transformed into a quadratic equation in tanx2:
sinx+cosx=1+322tanx21+tan2x2+1tan2x21+tan2x2
=1+32
2tanx2+1tan2x2=(1+tan2x2)1+32
Set y=tanx2
2y+1y2=1+32+1+32y2
(1+1+32)y22y1+1+32=0
and solve for y
y1=133, y2=23
Hence
x1=2arctan123=13π
or
x2=2arctan(23)=16π
And finally
tan13π+cot13π=433
or
tan16π+cot16π=433
