cosαcosβsinαsinβ=cos(α+β)
cosαcosβ+sinαsinβ=cos(αβ)
Adding left sides and adding right sides gives
2cosαcosβ=cos(α+β)+cos(αβ)
so
cosαcosβ=cos(α+β)+cos(αβ)2
We get:
cos(2x+3x)cosx=cos(5x)cosx
=cos(5x+x)+cos(5xx)2=cos(6x)+cos(4x)2
