We have,
x2+y2=(4sin(t))2+(4cos(t))2=16sin2(t)+16cos2(t)
We know that
sin2(t)+cos2(t)=1
so,
16(sin2(t)+cos2(t))=16
So, we have,
x2+y2=16
Which can be written as,
(x4)2+(y4)2=1
