Is cos2θ the same as (cosθ)2
I am trying to find limx0sin1x
I'm assuming it's possible with trigonometric identities. Doing some research, I found that sinθ=±1cos2θ. However I'm a bit confused on what is cos2.
Is cos2θ the same as (cosθ)2?

Yes, cos2 is a short cut for (cosx)2
Similarly we have tan2x  and  sin2x and more.
We also have the confusing sin1x which is the inverse of sinx not the reciprocal of sinx which is called cscx

Yes, this is true: cos2(θ) is another notation for (cosθ)2, likewise for sin  and  tan, and log,lg,  and  ln too.
