let x = 2 π y and y = π 6
then using cos ( x + y ) = cos x cos y sin x sin y
we have
cos ( 2 π / 3 ) cos ( π / 6 ) sin ( 2 π / 3 ) ( sin ( π / 6 ) = cos ( 2 π 3 + π 6 ) = cos ( 4 π + π 6 ) = cos ( 5 π 6 )
