tanhx=exexex+ex
Let's substitute this in and see what we get when we simplify.
1+tanhx1tanx=1+exexex+ex1exexex+ex

=ex+ex+exexex+ex+exex

=2ex2ex=ex×ex=[ex]2=e2x
