Let the amount of the 10% water be x. Then the amount of the 30% water is 30-x.
0.10(x)+0.30(30-x)=0.25(30)
0.10x+9-0.30x=7.5
-0.20x=7.5-9
x=1.50.20
x=7.5
30-7.5=22.5
The cook needs 7.5 liters of the 10% water and 22.5 liters of the 30% water.
