Rearrange:
x2x=2
again
x2+x=2
add and subtract 14
x2+x+1414=2
rearrange:
x2+x+14=2+14
(x+12)2=94
root square both sides:
x+12=±94=±32
so you get two solutions:

x2=1232=2
