I have the quadratic equation 5x2+96x576=0
I wonder can we solve it without using formula x=b±Δ2a?

Step 1
On recognizing that 96=24×4, and 576=242. it makes sense to let x=24u, factor out the 242 from all three terms, and reduce the quadratic to
5u2+4u1=0
This factors easily into (5u1)(u+2)=0, at which point you can let u=x24, multiply the 242 back in, and get
(5x24)(x+24)=0

Step 1
Let y=24 and you have
5x2+4xyy2
which easily factor as (5xy)(x+y)
