Multiple 1st equation by 3, multiple 2nd equation by 2 (to get the same coeffficients near x):
{ 6 x + 9 y = 3 / 10 ; 6 x + 4 y = 1 / 4 ;
Then we subtract equations:
( 6 x + 9 y ) ( 6 x + 4 y ) = 3 / 10 1 / 4 ;
5 y = 6 / 20 5 / 20 = 1 / 20 ;
y = 1 / 100.
Then substitute y into 1st equation (you can substitute into 2nd equation too):
2 x + 3 1 / 100 = 1 / 10 ;
2 x = 1 / 10 3 / 100 = 10 / 100 3 / 100 = 7 / 100 ;
x = 7 / 200.
Solution: x = 7 / 200 , y = 1 / 100.
