MathJax(?): Can't find handler for document MathJax(?): Can't find handler for document given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is
x m perpendicular = - 1 m
to calculate m use the gradient formula
x m = y 2 - y 1 x 2 - x 1
let ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( - 7 , 2 ) and ( x 2 , y 2 ) = ( 5 , - 12 )
m = - 12 - 2 5 - ( - 7 ) = - 14 12 = - 7 6
m perpendicular = - 1 - 7 6 = 6 7
