If a straight line passes through a point (a,b) then the slope of that line is
y - b x - a
In this case we are told that the point is (0,1) and that the slope is m=−2
So
y - 1 x - 0 = - 2
y - 1 = - 2 x
y = - 2 x + 1 (in slope-intercept form)
