First we have to convert 3.1 miles to meters
That will be;
Mathematically;
1  mile = 1609.344  meters
So 3.1 miles will be 3.1 1609.344 =
4 , 988.9664  meters
Now, we divide the number of meters here by 400
That will be 4 988.9664 400 = 12.472416  laps
To the nearest tenth, this is 12.5 laps
