The equation y=−5x+2 is in slope-intercept form, describing a line of slope −5 with intercept 2.
Any line parallel to it will have slope −5.
Point slope form is:
y - y 1 = m ( x - x 1 )
where m is the slope and ( x 1 , y 1 ) is a point on the line.
So with slope m=−5 and ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( - 1 , 4 ) , we get:
y - 4 = - 5 ( x - ( - 1 ) )
The same line in slope-intercept form is:
y = - 5 x + ( - 1 )
