It is in the form, y=mx+c where m is the slope & c the y-intercept.
m = - 3
Slope of perpendicular line m 1 = - 1 m = 1 3
Equation of perpendicular line passing thru (2,6) is
( y - y 1 ) = m ( x - x 1 )
y - 6 = ( 1 3 ) ( x - 2 )
3 y - 18 = x - 2
3 y = x + 16
