MathJax(?): Can't find handler for document MathJax(?): Can't find handler for document calculate the slope m using the gradient formula
x m = y 2 - y 1 x 2 - x 1
let ( x 1 , y 1 ) = ( - 9 , 35 ) and ( x 2 , y 2 ) = ( 2 , 2 )
m = 2 - 35 2 - ( - 9 ) = - 33 11 = - 3
Given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is
m perpendicular = - 1 m
m perpendicular = - 1 - 3 = 1 3
