This equation is already in slope-intercept form:
y=mx+c
with slope m = 1 2 and intercept c=−7.
Any line parallel to this line will have the same slope 1/2.
Incidentally, any line perpendicular to it will have slope
- 1 m = - 2

Your line has slope equal to 1 2 (which is the coefficient of x in y = 1 2 x - 7 ).
The line parallel to your line must have the same slope, i.e., 1 2
Remember that parallel lines have the same slope.
