We know that an even number always takes the form of 2 n , n . So the consecutive even number will be 2n+2.
Therefore we have:
2 n + 2 n + 2 = - 34
4 n + 2 = - 34
4 n = - 36
2 n = - 18 , 2 n + 2 = - 16
Therefore the two consecutive even integers are −18 and −16.
