For a point ( x ^ , y ^ ) and a slope m,
the slope point form of the linear equation is
XXX y - y ^ = m ( x - x ^ )

For the given values, this is (by direct substitution)
y−(−7)=(1)(x−(−2))

Note: It is tempting to simplify this as
y+7=x+2
or even
y=x−5
but neither of those are (technically) in point-slope form.
